It’s been a long week, and (warning: purely millenial moment here!) there is no better way to start a relaxing weekend than with a (bottomless) brunch.

My other half and I headed over to Fancy Crab for an indulgent Saturday treat. Currently on offer is a free-flowing prosecco (£24.95pp, limited to 1-hr) deal with brunch, which kept us well lubricated, The prosecco was fruity and refreshing - very easy to drink, and perfect to accompany the delicate crab flavours.

We shared two dishes from the weekend brunch menu- the King Crab Benedict and the Fried Soft Shell Crab Waffle. The King Crab Benedict was well balanced between the muffin, the crab meat and the perfectly poached eggs, drizzled in a light hollandaise sauce. The Fried Soft Shell Crab Waffle was sensational. The waffles were light and crispy, drizzled with maple syrup, and topped with a small soft shell crab plus dollops of sour cream. Although there was a little too much sour cream for my liking, this didn’t stop my enjoyment of this dish; waffles + maple syrup + crab? What more can a girl ask for?! Oh yes, a side of parmesan truffled fries please! Delicious.

To follow this up, we shared the Caramelised Banana Soufflé Pancakes, which were fabulous. The pancakes had a great texture, although they weren’t the lightest soufflé pancake I’ve eaten. Served with a lightly clotted cream and fresh berries, this was a delicious end to a lovely brunch.

Service was wonderful throughout our meal, and our waiter was attentive and friendly. At the end of the prosecco hour, he topped up our glasses once more, and told us to relax and enjoy the rest of the (2nd) bottle, regardless of time.

All in all, a great brunch spot in central London, and perfectly located for some shopping after! #winwin
